Re: Tomb Raider II & Windows XP Pro

That rules out physical damage then. Still if you have another drive you can try inserting the disc in it. My guess is that something is interfering with the proper installation on your own computer. You might have something wrong with your Windows XP. I don't say that you need to reinstall it but …

Go to my computer and learn the drive letter of your tomb raider 2 cd. Then try going to the command prompt again, type f: or d: or whatever letter you found when looking at my computer, and then try running setup.exe, but first do a dir command as qbix suggested so that you see you are in the …

You don't need to have Tomb Raider I installed in order to play Tomb Raider II. Also these three cab files are unpacked during the installation and it is there that the game executable resides. You can't unpack them with a tool like winzip though. Here's what I found out on tombraiderchronicles.com …

Re: A Little Feature Request

tannerstevo wrote: Try different output such as ddraw with fullscreen. Confirmed. Output modes such as surface do not stretch. But when you select fullresolution=640x480, set scaler to none, aspect to true, and output to ddraw, dosbox stretches the display properly.

Though it shouldn't be needed, try right-clicking on setup.exe and setting compatibility mode to Windows 95 or Windows 98. Also running the old dxdiagnostics or dxsetup from the tr2cd was a bad idea. It is a much much older directx version than the one on XP.

Tomb Raider II is a Windows based game. It never was a DOS-based game. Once again, did you check if your cd reads properly? As a first step, try copying all files from the cd to a folder on your hard drive and see if it copies okay. Also did you try running setup.exe off the cd's root folder? I am …

Re: Scandisk on DosBOX.

Do NOT, NEVER use any OS system tools within dosbox, especially not ones that want to directly access the disk. This is not what emulators are for, not dosbox and not any other. Use XPs disk checker, or some other, but not scandisk. Very wisely said. Why on earth would one would to use a 16-bit, …

Re: Tomb Raider 2 & Windows XP Pro

Is your game cd dust and scratch free? Try inserting the cd and manually browsing to your drive's root directory and run setup.exe. Go to windows explorer or my computer and open the drive containing tomb raider 2, then try running setup.exe.

Re: DOSBox Midi vs ScummVM Midi Question

I don't get this thread.... SCUMMVM supports limited Adlib FM synth and MT32 via emulation and full blown MT32 and General MIDI playback via MIDI hardware output. DOSBox is much the same (especially CVS builds with Munt built in). Hardware output to proper synths sounds the same in either, …

Id and Valve Superpack Dosbox config fix

Hello. My friend has written a program that automatically changes all steam dosbox configs and I think it is very helpful. He only asks you not to care too much about the source code because it is kind of silly but works nonetheless. So here is the link: http://dimiter.dyndns.org/dosboxfix/ …
