Re: Pro Rally 2001 wont install

in Windows
First guess is that it's one of those installers that need to get a signal from every window before proceeding. Usually they'll do nothing if a background process is misbehaving. So open task manager and kill all background processes that don't belong to Windows itself. I'm not sure it's one of …

Re: Incoming working slow as hell

in Windows
Have you tried turning it off and on again? That's actually not a joke. It sounds like a timing issue (it it's EXACTLY 5 FPS all the time) and reboots help with some of those.

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

dgVoodoo2 has some minor rendering problems with Lands of Lore II unfortunately. You can also play it with DXGL, but that has different rendering problems and DXGL doesn't allow forcing rendering resolution yet. What are the minor rendering problems? http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=34931 …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Been in the Insider's beta thing for Win10x64 since 10/2015--little over two years now. (Man, does time fly!) Anyway, got a multi TB game library of > 350+ games installed, from 30 years old to releases in the last couple of months--aside from DG Voodoo2 & Nglide 1.05, oddly enough, I have zero …

Re: Is this USB Stick on it's way out?

in Milliways
The worst thing about this happening to you, is that now you'll get into continual arguments about the reliability of flash memory. Fanboi be like: "Flash rules all, empires will rise and fall, eons pass and you'll still have your data, not like magnetic media that randomly explodes every 2 months …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Is there anyone able to run Enemy Zero? I noticed there's an old message in this thread refering to the game. Enemy Zero: Works in DDraw mode, D3D mode is selectable (although it's listed as D3D secondary rather than primary) but doesn't seem to work and reverts to DDraw. That problem was still in …

Re: GOG Crime Cities

in Windows
However the game it self or the menu does that LAG thing with nglide installed under Direct3d with gog version. Where the mouse will move for about 2 seconds then get hooked up on something before it will think again and move once its free. Which renderer are you using here: Clipboard01.png Ideally …

Re: dgVoodoo2 and SDL 1 support

the SDL port of "opentyrian" does not work smooth on my P4-2,26 Ghz. The sound stutters sometimes and the video is not smooth, there are visable lines on the top of the display, no smooth framerate over the entire display. Is my machine to slow for it? Isn't this of topic? Because I don't think …

Re: WIP versions

the d3d8 dll is frequently deleted by my antivirus (bitdefender), is there anything Dege can do to avoid it being detected as a virus? I got a better fix, Windows Defender! I had Windows Defender detect a version of dgVoodoo2 on another computer (I don't use Windows Defender). Better solution …

Re: WIP versions

the d3d8 dll is frequently deleted by my antivirus (bitdefender), is there anything Dege can do to avoid it being detected as a virus? Sure there is. Is it reasonable that a small developer working for free should spend his time creating workarounds for bugs in software that isn't even his? I'm …

Re: dgVoodoo2 and SDL 1 support

I'm amazed that you managed to figure out how to modify OpenTyrian's source code and build it, but can't figure out how to set environment variables. The simplest way to set a temporary environment variable is just to type it into a command prompt before running the game from the same command prompt …

Re: Arthur's Knights with dgvoodoo

Using DxWnd's exception handler (and disabling it's DirectX hooking) gets me farther: ARTHKNIA 2017-10-19 22-38-29-88.jpg Not that it gets me that far, but it reveals that the game has some rendering errors that Dege might want to look at? It also still crashes randomly. Why can't you get some more …

Re: WIP versions

@Dege I see you added 'ExtraEnumeratedResolutions' which is great but can you add something like 'DisableDefaultResolutions' to disable all default system modes so game will only see custom list of resolutions ? Yes, but why would the be useful? :) I can't think of any at the moment, but games that …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Dgvoodoo2 + RockmanX leads to weird behavior, it seems to not care at all about cpl settings and it keeps running at blurred ultralow resolution and even disabling the watermark does nothing, it stays active. Make sure you don't have different compatibility modes set on the game and dgvdooocpl. …
