Re: Night Watch

in Windows
It's the copy protection. It uses Starforce v3. There's no legal way to get it to run on Windows 7 or 8. Illegally, you can run it with ViTALITY's cracked exe. I can't link to that for obvious reasons. You also need d3d9.dll from S2SteamPatch.zip here: https://bintray.com/novik65/generic/ …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Ok, thanks for that! Does dgVoodooSetup find your monitor or just the 'Default' is in the list (General tab\Full screen output)? I'll answer from my experience as exactly the same happens to me: The monitor option lists default or \\. \DISPLAY1, no resolution other than unforced is selectable. I'm …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Dege: See attachments. Windows reports all resolutions and refresh rates available*. Other software does (I play modern games, so I've probably even tried other DX11 software). dgVoodoo2 does not. * Obviously except those below 1024x768, like Win7 won't allow you to select resolutions below 800x600, …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

On-topic again: Please say you have any idea about my problem Dege :(. My last 60hz monitor is gone soon. dgVoodoo's DDraw always reports the refreshrate the desktop runs at, to the applications, so I guess all games should use that because it's common that refresh rate is set to 0 (default) or the …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I was saying what you discovered is just one out of three problems with slowdowns in Windows 8. Try running 8-bit or 16-bit color software in a window. You won't get good results. Undying automatically falls back to 32-bit btw. Try running software that doesn't support window mode in window mode. …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

A bit off-topic, but you might be talking about different problems entirely: 1: Whatever lowenz is talking about, which I've never noticed since I don't play games at above my display's refresh rate (120hz). Can confirm that it actually happens though. I'm assuming it locks to refresh rate anyway; I …

Re: Viper Racing vs modern graphics card!

in Windows
I'm suspecting it's an nvidia driver problem (not surprising how their 'way it's meant to be played' is broken in most cases to the point where people blame Windows) as it works on RadeonHD6 here without any wrapper on Windows 7. v1.0. vid: 16 meg card (reported:2806.835938) vid: using AGP textures …
