Yeah, if you can get it going, vDos32 should be fast. It mostly doesn't emulate. It just runs the 32bit DOS code directly in Windows, and then interprets any DOS interrupts it runs into. On the other hand, it isn't much use for anything other than a few of the games supported by Glidos.

The Audio pack works with only a particular version TOMB.EXE. Download and install this: http://download.glidos.net/TR1/TrAndUbForGlidos.exe, which provides the appropriate version. Then change the Glidos config to use that file. Don't alter the setting for the CD image.

Ah sorry, I see what you were asking now. kjliew is right: it's the lack of VDM (although I didn't get the "API pass-through into WIN32 DLL" bit). Still Extreme Assault runs silky smooth on my Windows 10 based machine under DOSBox, so I'm not sure what's causing your problems.

I just ran it under Windows 10. The problem may be the default config. Under the DOS tab, make sure you have DOSBox selected as the emulation and check "Enable Glidos'e VESA emulation.

Yes 256x256 is the maximum. The overriding of textures is done by Glidos, not the selected Glide wrapper, so it has to stay within Glide limits and 256x256 is a Glide limit.
