Re: Tomb Raider 1 - Strange Error

I can't find anything about this problem in my CVS comments. I have some recollection of it though. I think it is to do with what VESA mode TR1 thinks it in before it jumps to Glide mode. You could try deleting SETTINGS.DAT You could try using the software version of TOMB.exe to change VESA mode by …

Re: Tomb Raider 1 - Strange Error

Anyway, about your problem with dgVoodoo. There was a time when Glidos did exactly the same thing - and VDos32 when running in software mode come to think of it. I can't remember the cause just now, but I'll let you know if I find it.

Re: Tomb Raider 1 - Strange Error

No the problem is that Glidos loses me money exactly because I have a job. I have a job where I can work any time of day and get paid by the hour. So I have the choice, do I work on my paid job or do I work on Glidos? So I think Glidos owes me a little money back. Also I have to sometimes buy tools …

Re: White Screen while FMV in Fullscreen with 1.36

v1.35, in windowed mode, used to keep pushing the display window into the top left corner of the screen. The code that did this was the part responsible for making the window the correct size. In v1.36, I made the resizing code maintain the position of the top left corner. The mistake was that I did …

Re: White Screen while FMV in Fullscreen with 1.36

The whilte screen, I have no idea. I don't believe I changed anything in that area between 1.35 and 1.36, unless you are using the Direct3D option. You could try reinstalling 1.35 to see if it really is something in 1.36. The problem with missing sound in the cut scenes is a known one. The easiest …

Re: Glidos Configuration for Tomb Raider

Thanks for your answer, Mr. G! I have more questions (hoping you don't mind) OPTIMISATIONS: - Cache Small Textures - ? That was put in for Descent 2. Everything in Descent renders fine under Glidos, except the green writing that appears at the top of the screen. The game uses a single texture for …

Re: Lines in Blood for GliDOS and no cut scenes

I have seen the flashing white lines, so I know what you mean. When I can get Blood running again, I'll take another look, see if I can figure out the cause. You say the problem doesn't occur with the DirectX setting. Is there any problem with using that? The cut scenes: I've never had them work. It …

Re: Lines in Blood for GliDOS and no cut scenes

It may be a bug in OpenGLide then, since that's the component that is cut out of the picture when you set DirectX - or maybe a bug in Blood that is shown up by OpenGlide. It may be that Blood isn't drawing the entire screen, and the initial contents of buffers are visible (although strange its …

Re: Glidos Configuration for Tomb Raider

Forced Texture Smoothing - ? Glide can render with interpolation or not, on a texture by texture basis. Close up, when not interpolating, you can see the individual pixels in textures. This option forces interpolation Mipmapping - ? Stops the detail in far away textures dancing about. Then there …

Re: VDos32 Crashes all the sudden

How weird! But good news. It shouldn't really be anything to do with VDMSound because VDos32 doesn't use it. If I'd have had my wits about me, I'd have asked you to keep a copy of your TR installation and send it to me. I might have been able to find out what was happening. Still, I'm just glad to …
