er, i get a no makefile was found error and i've tried "make" in both the source main folder and the src subfolder.

so i add an extra path pointing to the location of the sdl.dll file to my autoexec.bat file and reboot the pc? and at the end i type "make -f PLATFORM=win32 RELEASE=yes CPU=nocona" within the root of the source?

setllers 2 @ 80,000 cycles 😁 (any higher and the midi starts playing in slowmo and cpu also averages about 45%) blood @ 120,000 cycles (averages around 45% cpu usage) 😁 what do i need to compile under windows? theres no terminal for typing "sudo sh package" or whatever the syntax is.

with many of the games i tried the default "max" cycles option wasn't the best option... manually setting it resulted in gained performance. it slowed dosbox down to a crawl no matter what output i used... it does it on the mission briefing screens.

No idea because the "crappy" default cycles adjustment works fine for me. well i was only stating stuff imho and so are you so let us not drag off topic ok? cannon fodder. Cannon Fodder never performed slowly for me even for 0.63, so I can't imagine how the new dosboxes would improve it's already …

quick question... if i have timesynched on and set the cycles to 100000000000 will it have the same effect as setting cycles to max? erm wait, i mean does it just run games as fast as my computer can handle it without any crappy dynamic adjustment stuff.

i can't believe this game runs fine... im using the surface renderer and set cycles to 100000 with the timesynched option on. i've noticed a drastic performance increase in settlers 2 (including much less audio distortion), blood and cannon fodder. edit: milo the fuel run - runs much better now 😀

ok, i have mingw installed on my pc... the version that comes with zget (a program provided by nach for downloading and compiling ZSNES source) if i download the source for dosbox... what folder do i type whatever it is thats needed to be typed to? and what do i need to type? o_O keep stuff simple …

only increase the cycles in dosbox till the one core thats being used reaches near 100% if you increase it past 100% your just decreasing the performance of dosbox and probably wasting electricity.

tell your computer to monitor wave out and then just use windows sound recorder in conjuncion with dosbox to record stuff as wave files... its what i do usually for programs with odd ball music formats.
