Re: Star Wars Games

There's a free one called XT-CE. Again, not of much use. I did hear there was a SCUMMVM port to IPAQ, though. I think. So you COULD run other LucasArts games. There's a NES emulator, too - so you could play the Star Wars NES games... and others... but PC? Forget it, unless it's from before the …

Re: memory tricks

wouldn't it be kinda nice to get the bass cd version working under xp then, it did work under 2k rite? some of you guys should be able to fiddle a little with it ;) i refuse to hear that something which works under 2k won't work under xp, that's lame! According to DOSFreak's compatibility list, …

Harekiet wrote: As for cdrom support, that sapucd guy was working on it for dosbox, haven't heard from him in a while, but let's wait and see if he comes up with something nice. Cool - I'm hoping for having the option of either pass-through or using images (subchannel support ALA Pete's file format …

Re: Bilinearly interpolating blood

That's not it - sometimes fixing one game's issue will break another. Sometimes reimplementing a function in a faster, better way may break compatibility. It all interacts. The more you fix, though, hopefully the less you'll see this happening.

Re: TR1 running too slow

Oh, yes. Tried different rooms, different outlets,... Everything thing else in his home worked. The closest thing to an answer that we could think up was that voltage and current in his home was on the "fringe" of what's considered "quality" electricity. Of course, that was just guessing. When I …

Re: Tomb Raider 3dfx demo

The demo exists only in the statically linked form, and that form wont work with Glidos. At least for now. I hope we (uh, Paul) can figure out a way to dynamically patch the statically linked binaries in the future - but I'd wait until at the very least OpenGlide is pretty solid and, as a benchmark …

Re: Pod...

Here's how _I_ got POD to work under Win2K and WinXP First, software mode, the easiest. Make a full or full MMX install (remember to disable DX and Indeo checks in the installer). Enable Win95 compat mode on podmmx.exe (v2.1.0.0). In Win2k you'll need to make a shortcut and enable compat mode on …

Re: Duke 3D with VDMS

I'm confused. Was that Dijeeh (just not logged in) or the original poster, moc_leader, that posted "Nevermind. It works." ...I don't want to think about Windows 2000 or XP running on a K6/2 500. *shudder* SLOW...

Re: Mouse support in Arkania

in DOS
Okay... in the future, I'd like to see MOUSESET become an all-in-one utility for attempting to fix MS-DOS game mouse issues in Win2000/XP... if not by that time you've lost interest - well, what the hey, it's open-source, if not you, someone will pick it up. It's still an odd issue. And it sounds …

Re: Bilinearly interpolating blood

Hrmm. As hard as Paul has worked on this, I still prefer running Blood in it's normal mode at 1024x768. The 3dfx version enhancement is pretty minimal and the work involved is a bit much. Also, there's still the standard NT issues to overcome. But hopefully working on it has worked out some issues …
