So, what does mem /c report, when looking at XMS available? What memory managers are loaded with which parameters? How does the YMF driver uses memory? Just having RAM SIMMs is not enough.

Maybe move the discussion to the Kryoflux forums. They basically get those timing values from the Reader Hardware so they should know them as well as their standard deviation. They can probably also provide a suitable image format as simple binary images do not include any disk mastering information …

I'd suggest that you find someone with a kryoflux. Thats no guarantee but chances are higher to preserve an image that can be written back in a working condition. AFAIK there is no floppy emulator for x86 that emulates copy protected disks (maybe not even an image format).
