I'm searching for program, that allows playing pc-speaker tones on sound blaster & clones without using mb-to-sb dongle. I saw this util a few years ago but now can't find  Help please. p.s. Re: Duke Nukem 3D - General Midi Problem.

in DOS
Yes i use that machine and of course i'm also playing with bios settigns and variable boot sequences. I'm think, maybe build engine has FX caching feature like in Eradicator, but this feature just not described? Probably my awe-32 has 28mb onboard memory. Anyway Blood game use same build engine but …

Re: Duke Nukem 3D - General Midi Problem.

in DOS
No, only in the game. I fogot to say. It is jerky playing both midi (through GM) and fx sound. Especially in intro screen and in beginning of E1M01 and E2M01 With EMU8k or FM playback everything ok. p.s. I found this bug. It is appears when FX set to big frequency. In Example: 8000khz - all ok …

Duke Nukem 3D - General Midi Problem.

in DOS
I have trouble in Duke Nukem 3D with ingame midi playback through any General Midi device. Midi playback is a little jerky. I try with many cards, game versions and environments. Sound Blaster 16 AWE-32 (many revisions) AWE-64 Daughterboards and external modules: SCD15, DB50XG, Waveblaster I/II, MU- …

Re: AWE-32 + Daughterboard = randomly corrupted midi.

Tomorrow i got another CT3990 and CT3900 non pnp and test both cards. Well, new CT3990 have corrupted midi playback bug too like CT3990 that i have already. Maybe it is a revision bug. CT3900 work perfectly. Midi playback is solid, without any glitches and sample loops. Like a CT3980. Unfortunatelly …

Re: AWE-32 + Daughterboard = randomly corrupted midi.

For real (not emulated by emu8000) general midi this tool not required ofcourse, but i load aweutil anytime for other purposes. I prefer emu8000 synthesis in few titles, Blood in example.) p.s. Offtop. In comparision with other music standarts i explain my vision of games midi music like that: FM …

Re: Yamaha SW60XG - is it being used?

If you route the AWE64 output through the SW60XG (this seems to be a very nice feature of that card, btw), playing around with the AWE64 mixer settings would perhaps help a bit - specifically the "output gain" setting comes into mind here... Unfortunatelly SW60XG signal-to-nose ratio is incredible …

Re: AWE-32 + Daughterboard = randomly corrupted midi.

Yeah, I know this one (also from AWE64 cards). Either the FM doesn't work at all or it sounds really strange (like chorus/reverb settings gone havoc). Can't imagine why this happens, but resetting the EMU seems to fix it. Do you know how resetting EMU8000 under windows for this purpose? AWEUTIL …

Re: AWE-32 + Daughterboard = randomly corrupted midi.

Yeah, I know this one (also from AWE64 cards). In my AWE-64 that bug is not present. Maybe because AWE-64 series has never 4.16 DSP except 4.13 in AWE-32 series? This could be a bug in the mixerset software. Do you have the newest version from the Creative website? I have incorrectly explained... …

Re: AWE-32 + Daughterboard = randomly corrupted midi.

Well... AWE-32 PnP CT3980 works absolutly correct and playing these problem midis excellent!!! Like my SB16 and AWE-64. Anyway this revision has two minor bugs. 1. bug that present in any AWE-32 that have Advanced Signal Processor (CT1748). FM music not playing until card not reinitialised (aweutil …
