Nope. It was indeed 80MHz. My Pentium 100 ran at 80x1,5=120MHz. Maybe 40x3 better said. My successor board the P55Tp4 could run at 83. See also here: ASUS PCI/I-P54TP4 Socket 5 motherboard thread/review

Off topic: I also owned the P54TP4 back in the days with 512kb non PB cache plus EDO. and all benches were indeed faster with L2 disabled. Especially when running bus at 80MHz. Never understood why. Anyway fantastic engineering here so far. Good luck with the new board.

Thank you very much. Before going into detail analysis and seeing the prices (in Germany often even higher) just go for a zuluscsi solution could be even the better solution as it can be connected directly to SCSI-2 hba‘s isn’t it?

I can confirm that disks larger 8gb won’t work with the microhouse / ontrack overlay driver. I’m using a 160gb hdd. Ontrack overlayed to 8gb on an 540mb bios. the provided disk driver for win 31 aren’t able to enable 32bit accesss. Maybe I try the ontrack patched driver set or the ezdisk ones

The article says Win3.1 does and gives up to 80% more GUI performance. I checked the article. Interestingly you don’t see what exactly and how they have benched. So is it wintach or standard calc or just apps. At the end you cannot say wether the fpu is supporting a (benchmark) app or the win 3.1 …

Thanks a lot guys. Thus U320 should work. That’s great and 8gb are enough since most stuff is connected via smb share. And yes also win95 running. Quite ok. Quite… :) but yes you might wonder how kind of ok it runs with good gdi acceleration, ram and good hdd. Thanks will therefor look for a u320 …
