My worst fear is that Fallout 1/2 purists are saying Fallout 3 is just going to be "Oblivion with guns". I hope there is something else.

Did you try to manually copy all files/subdirs to a folder in your hardisk and checking what invokes this game (a batch file, perhaps)?

If those games are from the ms-dos era, DOSBox is just what you need. You don't need to mess with physical hardware to assign a virtual drive letter.

1) Not sure. Try timed=true and timed=false in you dosbox.conf 2) Try disabling ems in your dosbox.conf -> ems=false

I am starting to think that something is broken inside the code of this game. It is very difficult to run, when it shouldn't be.

You can do that by just copying the sdl.dll (from a different version) into your DOSBox folder.
