Re: mounting virtual cds in DosBox

While I have enjoyed using your dosbox build, I have noticed two problems: 1. The dosbox.conf file seems to repeat every command in the autoexec portion twice. 2. When I exit dosbox, the program freezes and I get the following message: dosbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are …

Re: mounting virtual cds in DosBox

I followed your instructions with a clean autoexec portion of the dosbox.conf file and the message I get says: MSCDEX installed. Drive D is mounted as c:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso; c:\Ripper\RIPPER2.iso when I typed in the command dir, it showed the files for Ripper1 disk. When I then hit ctrl + F3 (as …

Re: mounting virtual cds in DosBox

When the dosbox.conf file reads: mount D D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl imgmount E "C:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER2.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER3.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER4.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER5.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER6.iso" -t iso mount C C:\Ripper The errors read: For CD-ROM images: imgmount Drive …

Re: mounting virtual cds in DosBox

I tried that too, but it did not work. When I load: imgmount E "C:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER2.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER3.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER4.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER5.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER6.iso" -t iso None of the disks load. If I try: imgmount E "C:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso" -t iso imgmount E …

Re: mounting virtual cds in DosBox

My dosbox.conf file includes the following when using the build: mount D D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl imgmount E "C:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER2.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER3.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER4.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER5.iso" "C:\Ripper\RIPPER6.iso" -t iso mount C C:\Ripper C:\RIPPER /v3 The …

Re: mounting virtual cds in DosBox

Oh, the game, Ripper, works very well. The issue is that it requires 6 CDs which need to be constantly switched. I was hoping to find a way to mount all of the disks as image files onto a virtual drive and simply load these image disks as needed. The image files run more efficiently than the CDs are …

mounting virtual cds in DosBox

Recently, I have been able to play the game Ripper using Dosbox. I mounted image files of the 6 CDs using the commands: imgmount E "C:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso" -t iso imgmount F "C:\Ripper\RIPPER2.iso" -t iso imgmount G "C:\Ripper\RIPPER3.iso" -t iso imgmount H "C:\Ripper\RIPPER4.iso" -t iso imgmount I …

Re: Morpheus on Windows XP

Perhaps I have spoken a little to soon. The graphics work fine except for looking at the door handles on the ship deck. When you see the magnifying glass which tells you to pan in close, the panned view is all white as if the panned view did not register. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: ripper on dosbox

I figured out how to mount the image files of the 6 disks into the dosbox.conf file and it worked. Not only that, but there was no more stuttering. Thanks for your help. One question though, I have set the dosbox.conf file to read: mount c c:\ When I do this (using v 0.65), I get a warning which …

You were right about the Quicktime. My computer was installing ver 6 not the ver 3 which is required to play this game. Thanks for your help.

Re: Morpheus on Windows XP

I did try changing the compatibility to Windows 95, but it did not make a difference. I also changed the colors to 256 per Inferno's advice. A message box then told me to change from 16 bit to 8 bit resolution. Then it hung up.

Re: ripper on dosbox

My disks are located in C:\Ripper, so I tried the following command (deleting the "mount D D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl" command): imgmount Z C:\Ripper\RIPPER1.iso -t iso It did not work. It still asks for a disk in the D drive. I must not be using the right set of commands. Can you please help me …

Morpheus on Windows XP

in Windows
Hi, I am trying to play the PC game Morpheus on Windows XP. It installs nicely, but when I open the game and start to move around, I get the following message: Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address: 66868928 Top of stack: 66868979 When I hit "OK", the game crashes. Does any one know how to fix …

Re: ripper on dosbox

Thanks for the advice. I tried your suggestion of modifying the dosbox.conf file and it actually slowed things down a little. As far as setting up image files for the disks, I did that, but the program specifically asks for a disk from the D: drive (CD-ROM). Is there a way to fool the program into …
