Problem is that XG sounds best but only the soundfont has orchestral choir in one winged angel. Probably better with the MP3's..

Kali was the older way of playing IPX games over the internet. There is a DOS client but I never tested it. Wonder if it still works?

It could be a modern system running DOS? I recall you had to run some software on each computer, then you can talk IPX. Something like this . An IPX driver for a modern card could be a problem - maybe use an older PCI one. So long as they are on the same physical network you shouldn't have any probs …

datacasting The thought of connecting up a PC to an antenna & downloading stuff through via the TV signal is a pretty neat thing even now. Teletext I suppose was the prototype - but why did we never go further than this?

Magneto Optical drives seemed pretty magical. Virtual Reality headsets are coming back - but they did flop at the time (fun fact: the VFX-1 headset used ACCESS.bus, a usb-like tech that didn't catch on)

Yep definitely a worthwhile project - keep it up! btw: something like a dongle box that plugs into the old IBM keyboards and makes them wireless would be well worth doing.

cool project but you can already do this with (certain) logitech wireless keyboards and mice (which have ps/2 capability).. have one hooked to a ps/2 kvm and it's working well. And they are reasonably nice keyboards/mice too.. but yes they are not so common anymore.
