There are no XP drivers for APUs with GPU cores that are newer than the 7000 series (AMD always lists the GPU of APUs with the same naming scheme as contemporary desktop graphics). So unless you manage to find some of the oldest APU models that kills this idea right there.

The combination of AMD 5x86 and AP43 does seem to come up from time to time. I ended up just using a DX-4, but hey, it was only like my 2nd rig ever so I didn't know any better 😁

One has to wonder how AMD would miss this during the usual rigorous validation a CPU receives. They probably just launched the CPU aware of the issue.

Sometimes I feel like putting money aside to replace my gaming FX-8350 PC with a Threadripper system because it sounds so cool.. AMD have been underdogs in CPUs for so long that seeing them on top of the game again is a joy to my eyes.
