Just found that my CH 498B is also a Rev 1.0, and yes you're right, I tried one 3.3v and it didn't boot, so it doesn't support any 3.3v~4v cpu. I guess i'll stick with 5v processors, just bought an AMD 486DX2-80 (25220 E6) and it should be powerful enough for most of the games of that era.

Cleaned this nice 386 AMD 386 SX/SXL 33Mhz motherboard. It boots. Added an aluminium heatsink on the CPU, but it still gets quite hot, so I will be placing a 4 or 5 cm fan on the PC case nearby when building a whole system.

First owner 7IXE reporting. I always had a fight with the AMD driver pack and ended up with a non-functional Windows 98SE installation. I believe it was the GART or IDE driver... not sure anymore.

Not related to the OPs issue but to the hardware.. I also have a m912 v1.4 and after reading that your dx4 worked decided to go on another search as to why mine doesnt.... V1.4 does not support AMD dx4 😀 Could have saved myself an hour if I had found a 1.4 manual sooner (was using 1.7)
