Okay pentiumspeed I have a (AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition) here. It's says it's an AM3 CPU. My motherboard is AM2 only. Not AM2+ so this is throwing me a bit. How could a AM3 CPU work in a AM2 only board?

Update. I tried it on another motherboard, an AMD K5 based one, and similar problems. Windows 98SE reported that the card didn't start and would be disabled. The card is dead, isn't it?

Version 0.52ß is working wonderfully on my Asus P5A/AMD K6-III+ system, with Windows 98SE installed (DOS mode, of course). I make heavy use of gerwin's SetMul utility as well to slow the machine down, and it does not introduce any problems. Many thanks for this software.

I don't think so. Socket 4 was the first Pentium socket and socket 5 and 7 were for later Pentiums and AMD and others.
