Machine is now working well with older drivers. However performance seems a bit lacking, I think it's the processor. What are the opinions on the Athlon 64 X2 5000+? Could be holding the Radeon 6770 back a little?

What's the use of the Gotek on a machine that has standard USB ports? Seems a real FDD would make the machine more versatile, but I imagine virtually no late XP software actually needs the drive. Are you really working with floppy images that much?

Do you have another known working chip to test your board with? (like a DX-33 5v part). If you don't like to keep switching around lots of jumpers, you could try an older chip that required mostly the same jumpersettings, but right now I'd first make sure you're not trying to get parts working that …
