I'm expecting that it will probably end up having something similar to Sandy Bridge IPC, better power efficiency, while offering 8-core CPUs at or slightly below the price of Intel's current high-end 4-core consumer CPUs. I think that will be enough to make it an exciting CPU for many people. …

Nice! Eager to see the first reviews of the 1060 😀 @ Deep Thought You make a good point regarding noise and temperatures. Like with the RX 480, it seems a proper dual fan cooler will improve both.

It seems inconceivable that they could engineer such a complex GPU and then screw up the power regulation of the board. Could be another sign of the board being pushed beyond its originally intended power consumption.
