I personally was not able to get the POD working properly with L1 in write-back mode on the m919 v3.4 motherboard.

As far as I recall, the POD on the m919 is always in write-through mode regardless of what software reports. I don't recall about what L1 options are present on the m919 when using the POD; its been many years since I used that board for anything.

I got a K6-2+ 550MHz in a Super socket 7 pcb (Soltek SL-54U5) that doesn't want to post if I set it at normal 2.0V but works with 2.1V. Is it safe to run it at this voltage?

Wait.. why is there a power connector? I never had a goldfinger device. I always just did the solder mods required to change the voltage, multiplier, and cache divisor. It's pretty quick to figure out what a specific CPU will handle and still be stable and the soldering is pretty easy to do as well. …

Very nice ! I didn't know you could do that 😁 I might do that instead. The only problem now is to find a way to open it without breaking it ^^ (For overclocking purposes and also simply changing the thermal paste between the heatspreader and the actual CPU, because it doesn't look great).

Goldfinger is ideal for experiments and/or if you have multiple CPUs. Personally, I would love to have one, because it opens many option to tinker with on the fly.

Hmm... I have given up using the PCI NIC. As long as the ISA NIC works well, I'll just wait and see... Maybe I will buy another 486 motherboard later...

Not necessarily, they are quite robust and, as example, we had 3.3v/5v capable EDO and SDRAM.

I have one of those cpus too where it says it is suppose to have 8Kb cache but has 16Kb cache. I think I made a post in this forum about it long time ago. It also runs at 133Mhz well. Remember this? Re: 486 OC and cooling.
