I think Rev G does not need a modification.(No external tag) To my knowledge the only boards to have 1Mb Cache ALi is Rev G on ASUS P5A. There is no other proof of the existence thus far. Only P5A Rev G

The reason I think to upgrade to the 1Mb cache is for the possibility to have more breathing room for the CPU. Because the CPU cache is really big on K6-3+ 256Kb running at 600Mhz+ Might get chocked by the slow 512Kb. But it could also not give a big performance boost because of more data to flush. …
