SDL changes should go to Sam Latinga , dosbox changes should be posted in the "Patches" section of http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox/. Create Patches against latest CVS using "cvs diff -u". Drop us a line if you need more advice 😉

Found the reason for this problem. On http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2435 you can download a snapshot (in the snapshot group of course 😀) for the "new" msys bash. Only after installing that one, I get this error.

It's a known issue. I think I opened a feature request on it on the sourceforge project page for Munt. Not to defend it or anything, but I also noticed that Roland Virtual Sound Canvas doesn't use the MIDI mixer channel either (although the Yamaha XG softsynth(s) seem to IIRC)
