I have a 1080i hdmi capture card but it doesn't support odd resolutions. It only captures standard tv signals: 480i/p, 720p, or 1080i. I used a vga to hdmi converter but many games are cropped and intermittently lose sync (random screen splits). I'm guessing it's due to the odd timings and resolutions used (288p, 253@ 54hz, etc).

Does anyone know a scaler with hdmi or DVI out? Specifically one that lets me keep the original image size centered within a standard highdef resolution. For example I need 288p centered inside 720p (not actually scaling the image). I know it'd look tiny inside a 720p capture size, but at least I wouldn't have parts of the screen chopped off and I prefer to scale it later in virtualdub.

Help with this would be greatly appreciated of course!
