MAME Thunder Blade analog controls

Postby thefixer » 2017-8-23 @ 00:24

I'm running arcade rom Thunder Blade on MAME and my analog controller sticks are behaving like regular buttons, either all or nothing. For example, if I push a little on the stick to reduce speed it doesn't respond until I gradually push further enough. Then it finally does respond, but by totally dropping speed to zero. There is no in between, I could simply shove the analog stick all the way to begin with for the same result.

The question is, is this the game or do I need to adjust the analog settings?
I don't know if the original arcade game allowed for maintaining partial movements, or if it was all or nothing.

The specific version I'm running is:
"Thunder Blade (upright, FD1094 317-0056)"

Found the answer myself: Thunder Blade does use analog input signals, I just needed to adjust the MAME analog settings.
