Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far.

Ignore any other attachments in this thread before 6-7-2017. The below link is everything we have so far:

If you don't feel like digging out games and installing them then just scan your game drive for the dlls and add "File Version" or "Product Version" to the details view.

Any .dll that doesn't have anything in those fields is likely an older one and would be of interest. If you don't feel like identifying the version then just copy it out and put a random # after the filename and provide me a copy (PM ME) and I'll identify it.

Generally, with Bink, Smacker and MSS you can interchange any files with the same number1.number2 version (i.e. the letter can be different but not the major and minor version numbers).

Sorry I took so long 🙄

Please rename the archive to raddlls.7z and use a 7zip decompressor (.tar.bz2 and .zip both made archives that were quite a bit larger and got too close to the 5MB limit for comfort). Includes a couple extra versions that I've scooped up in the last year or two (including smackw32.dll v4.0e).

It would be cool to get all of the DLLs you listed, although at the moment I'm mostly interested in smackw32.dll v3.0r because for some reason the 2.2i version included with Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II leaves black box artifacts all over static parts of the scenes. I tried versions up to 3.0j and had the same result. Version 3.1n crashes the game, so I guess it's not 2.2i-compatible.

Currently visiting my folks so if I don't get around to doing it here, I'll do it when I get back.

Haven't kept up with the files for the last couple of months since I've been focused on Vista and 64bit testing....When I get around to 2008 testing I'm going to look back through my list and identify the game I haven't looked at to see if they have bink/smacker/miles files. Also alot of games on my list I identified as having the files but I didn't identify the version so I just left a question mark.....

I think we'll just put up all of the .dll's if the RAD Game tools people have a problem then they can just tell us to take it down.

🤣 thanks. I took 2 years to post mine, so I wasn't expecting an immediate response 😉

Edit: most of your DLLs are bigger than mine for some reason. Going to keep mine when I find a conflict during merge because I got almost all of them from actual games.

I was wondering if you UPX'd your .dll's. Haven't checked the small ones I got from your zip. I took most of my .dll's straight from the game demos without any compression to them.

Actually, somebody has and for a practical reason (at least for Smacker files to a certain extent). Rowan Software once acknowledged a problem with Flying Corps Gold where the included Smacker DLL did not work on some systems/configurations. They made an alternate version available, but while this version worked on some systems, it still didn't resolve the problem on others. However, most users were able to fix the problem by going through and testing all the Smacker DLLs on their system until they found one that worked. That's how I got the game to work on my particular configuration.

So a ready-made collection of Smacker DLLs may make it easier for someone to get that game to work at least.

I've got troubles with No One Lives Forever (shipped with mss32 6.0i). What if I try with 6.0m or another in the 6.x range (with 7.2c it complains that some functions are missing)?

P.S.: 7.2c is the mss32.dll shipped with the demo of miles sound system.

I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...

If of some interest, we found a smackw32.dll with identical functional interface but different size/hash of 2.1c in Hellbender and also another similar dll without the SmackUseSoundMSS/DirectSound calls in S.C.A.R.A.B.

I got an interesting problem. Finally I found a way to skip the bink movies (sometimes they can be an annoyance if they don't react to some skip button) and the trick uses a BinkGoto to the last frame. But the problem is that there's no supported API to get the movie length, the information is stored in the BINK structure and this structure changes depending on the Bink release.
Now, the problem is that the DxWnd program, when hooking a generic executable, has no way to find out the Bink release, not to mention the absolute lack of bink.h files for each version.
The only thing that I could discover was that in Final Fantasy VIII you can't use one of the very few leaked bink.h files, because the BINK descriptor for that release has two extra DWORD at the beginning, apparently a duplicate of the movie w*h size that is in next two DWORDs.
Any idea? Any repository of legacy bink.h files?

Looks like some files were prevented access to when google did their link sharing update.

I am still slowly unpacking all of my games (roughly 35tb) on my server. Once done should be able to add some more dlls. 😀

Did some scanning of the games from the online stores since those are unpacked by default and was able to add some more dlls.
Unpacking all Windows and DOS games is still a WIP and I'm down to 4TB free out of 130TB.......
