Until it is, unzip this help file from 2.04 into your VDMSound directory.

stop using the "Basic VESA emulation" which causes problems with XPSP1.

Speaking of which, has anyone come up with any theories to explain this? I remember people here on VOGONS thinking I was nuts for claiming this was happening on my computer with programs like Impulse Tracker.

Hi. I installed VDMSound 2.1 beta, and the option "Run with VDMS" only shows up when rightclicking .bat- and .com-files, and does not show up when I rightclick .exe-files. The obvious answer is to make a .bat-file to run the .exe-file.

But is there another solution so the "Run with VMDS" would show up on .exe-files too?

could you try it with mem.exe located at c:\windows\system32\ (if you run XP that is and have installed it to c:\windows).
If it works there you have not yet tried it with true dos executables (it makes no sense for windows executables to show the "run with VDMS).

I believe that Windows EXEcutables have a special header/signature in them consisting of a special sequence of bytes that Windows recognizes and interprets.
