You need to monitor your processor usage through task manager. While upping the cycles make sure that you don't exceed 95% processor usage. If you do exceed then you will actually be slowing down your game instead of speeding it up.

Yeah, I was checking. I kept pressing it, I got to 64% but the game lagged and sound stuttered more than ever. I just thought what's the point of trying if I have been increasing it so much while making it even slower.

So I still understand what I should do to get it working. I kept increasing and it kept becoming slower. I just want to know what the heck is going on with the speed and how to increase it. It's a simple question and I'm a DosBox newbie so I need to know the easy way.

First create a new topic descriping the problem, "DosBox is slow, how to speed up?"

Then post your System Specs (Processor,video card, OS, amount of physical memory)

Then post the contents of your DosBox.conf

Post what you have tried.

Post the names of the games that you are trying to get running.
