Is there a place where I can alter the default configuration of the VDMSound Launchpad? (It's really annoying to have to re-configure every time or set a "base" config file.)

No. Defaults are in the code. 😀
See my reply to the "restore .vlp association" in the SourceForge "Help" forum as to how to easily reuse non-standard configurations.

Sorry, use the suggestions in the "Help" forum. I'm not going to add "configurable defaults", everybody would start messing with them and support would become a nightmare. There are other ways of reusing existing configurations that are even easier than going "Next, Next, Finish" through the Wizard.
