I've had his page bookmarked for...let's see here. 2 yrs. Geesh! I've never even bothered him to contact him at all!

Look at his page he still seem's to be pretty active and he's even released his old source code.

For those who don't know he worked on the BUILD engine for all the old BUILD engine games (Duke3D,Shadow Warrior, Blood).

Man, BUILD in some ways was far more interesting than the Quake engine back in the day. 😀

I don't know. He seemed kind of hacked-off when people came to him about fixing the PCI audio bug in Duke/Blood/ShadowWarrior.

Maybe some polite advice-type questions?

Or maybe someone could look at his original BUILD source code, make that NT-compatible; then use the info gained from the conversion to create a template for patching the actual games.

Hrmm.

Linux and Win32 conversions of the BUILD engine (two separate projects doing the same thing, hrm).

Yes, it’s my fault.

I've thought about it and have told Vlad about him on a couple of occasions, as Ken created his own YM3812 emulation.(http://www.advsys.net/ken/ksmsongs.zip)

I think AdPlug has the option of using his emulation instead of MAME's emulation - although MAME's is much much better. 😀

So far I haven't, but his BUILD engine connection does make it tempting. I volunteer someone other than me to do it. :p

Ken's YM3812 emulation? nothing.

But we ARE in the VDMSound forum, and it DOES have to do with VDMSound (the OPL2 = YM3812, the OPL2 was used in the Adlib sound card, VDMSound emulates Adlib via MAME's YM3812 emulation).

And Ken authored both. I thought it was a nifty connection.
