when i tried to launch MODE.COM in autoexec.nt like:
%SystemRoot%\system32\mode.com
I simply got "Bad Command or File Name"

When I try display it at the same line of autoexec.nt
dir %SystemRoot%\system32\mode.com
It appears ok ("MODE COM 19968 02.07.26 4:00p")

And, others Command(dosx, redir ...) Runs OK.

Why only for mode.com??

Moved thread as it doesn't appear to have anything to do with VDMSound. Actually, I'm not sure what's trying to be done here.

I ask that the poster come back come back and clarify a few things: What are you attempting to do and why?

It appears he wants to use MODE in Autoexec.nt but it's telling him it can't find the file.

That is a weird bug, though. I haven't seen it before. I'll try it out later.

I tested both at command prompt within Windows XP. Both worked. Uh, you try, Mr. Unregistered.

Yes, but why? What's the purpose? Does it have something to do with VDMSound?

Why'd you move the post?

Can't find the original location, I think it was VDMSound. In any case, it appeared to have nothing to do with the post.

What's going on?

Good question. I thought Millyways was accessible for Unregistered posters.

Ok, then it was my goof. I'll move it back, but I'd like clarification on what's trying to be done by the original poster.
