Terra Nova is one of the best games I've ever played so once I found out about VDMSound I decided to get it out of the closet and see if I could get it to run. I am able to configure all of the sound just fine within the Terra Nova setup program and once I load the TN game itself I get the opening cinematic for Looking Glass software, but immediately after that cinimatic the game crashes and I get this

Unfortunately, you have crashed Terra Nova, version V1.08

I've tried disabling all, enabling VESA support, low level CD-ROM support, but nothing seems to work. I HAVE gotten the game to run under DOSBOX, but it's not as fast as I would like it, even though I'm running an Athlon 64 3200+.

Just curious if anyone has had any success getting Terra Nova to run with VDMSound - if so, I would really appreciate any tips to getting it going! Thanks.

After doing some more searching I came across a thread on the TTLG forums and found this which explains how to get the game running. Worked like a charm!

That didn't work with me for some reason, but I got it running on DosBox real well.
DOSBox SVN Builds <-- there's a link to KuligozaCVS Dosbox, go there and get it. Then (this is easiest with some frontend, like D-Fend) use custom settings for the game. (these are actually modified versions of the Crusader custom configs I found from here a while ago)
And then run it, it should run pretty smoothly, if not, add a few frameskips. It will be slow on higher res, but the lower is smooth enough to be playable even on my athlon xp 2800+.
