I am running a 50 Mhz 80486 w/20MB RAM.
I have no internal sound card and my PC speaker has blown. But I do have a Disney Sound Source external device.
Is it possible to get sound while playing a game that requires a Soundblaster compatible card?

why don't you buy a sound card?

Here in the Netherlands we have some second hand stores with much used stuff. Internal speakers, complete pentium I and MMX's motherboards and processors. Also 486 386 286 and XT/AT motherboards and processors. Video cards from ISA to VESA to PCI, EDO RAM from 4MB to 64MB all for 50CT's a piece!!! Really 50 Cents. This is in Euro's. So that is about the same amount in dollars.

I don't know where you live but a store like this must be in your neighborhood. So buy all you need there.
