Well I don't believe it is. I have people unlocking all the time, no problems (the service sends me an email each time). I have one person with this problem. That's a funny definition of "cumbersome and prone to failure".


You could incorporate a BIOS checksum to ensure the registered version stays on the motherboard it was set up on. People change motherboards less often than they do peripherals, for example.


That's an idea. Might be good to replace the NIC check for a BIOS check. I might have a look if that's possible.
