Is it a Windows game or is it a DOS game?
Does it use Glide?
Is there a downloadable demo on the net?

Is this the DOS version or the Windows version? If it's the DOS version, you may be stuck. If it's the Windows version there is a hack that at least makes it playable.
IIRC, both the DOS and Windows versions are speed-sensitive; but only the Windows version has this hack available.
There is a patch for the DOS version, but I don't think it's enough to get it running on XP.
Hello! I recently discovered this website:
http://originalthp.solsector.net/privateer2win95/
The instructions are easy to follow!
I could play Privateer 2 again.
I also found a program that makes Privateer works on Windows 95/98/ME but not on Win NT/XP 🙁
Check this webpage:

Hope this help 😀

Looks good. I always thought it might be possible to do this, apparently it was just a case of someone applying themselves to come up with a patch/hack (and access to both versions as well).

Yes, we've heard about MyJEMM.
The downside (like you said) is that it doesn't give much hope for NT versions, but it also has problems with soundcards in Win9x.
He told me he was working on an update, but I willing to bet that the Summer sun lured him away from the project.
