Presuming this is running on XP, he should try temporarily renaming DOSDRV.EXE TO DOSDRV.BAK. Change TR's setup to a basic SoundBlaster (IRQ 5 DMA1) and see if it can complete the level with XP's "rough'n'ready audio.
