Hi,
I am having roblems getting TR1 to run accelerated despite using the 3dfx patch and the latest GliDOS.
I have managed to get many games going successfully, including both the screamer games, albeit slowly.
But TR1 runs, fullscreen only, but in software mode despite the 3dfx .exe.

Spec is in Sig, OS is WinME, and drivers are the 30.82's.

Does anyone have a direct link to the 3dfx exe they are using ?

I have a whole heap of DOS 3dfx games, so I'll post results as soon as I'm finished testing.

Cheers for any info,

Craig.

You should be using the "Voodoo Rush" patch, not the 3dfx patch. It should show as 853 or 854K in size.
If it's not on your game CD, the check your GliDOS help/webpage to link to a site for downloading it.

Even if you don't test a particular title. Could you give us a list? Trying to come up with a comprehensive 3dfx-DOS list here:

I'll have a look around for the Rush patch, thanks.

I can't post a list of what I'm testing just yet as I am still hunting out all my CDs.
I bought almost every 3dfx enabled game out there, and never sold any. Just boxed them up and shoved them in the attic.

MDK was close. Didn't have a title screen or anything, but when you hit the ground after starting the game, if looked and ran pretty good.

Been there...well actually...I am there. Stacks of titles laying around. Still haven't finished Zork I yet. Oh well, it'll keep me busy when I finally retire.

Oddly, MobyGames lists this as both a DOS and a Windows title. We're trying to concentrate on the DOS 3dfx titles that don't have a Direct3D or OpenGL equivalent. From what MobyGames says, I'm not sure.

I know the feeling of games I own that I haven't completed.
I must have about 400 original CDs going back to around 1992, and I didn't get around to complete many.

MDK was DOS, but worked in windows.
The 3DFX version was DOS only, and it's still the best version.
I can play the windows version but it's not accelerated in any way, and doesn't have any kind of bilinear filtering.
Under GliDOS, I can play it if I can negotiate the menus blind (can't see a thing) and get to start the game.
The only problem is when you fire your weapon and the screen goes green.

Games I've tried so far are

Grand Theft Auto - Locks up
Starfighter3000 - Keeps wanting the CD
XWing v Tiefighter - still trying.

Ok, that makes it a possible candidate.

Hrmm. Tried a No-CD patch?

XWing v Tiefighter - still trying.

That's Windows only, right?

Ok.
Perhaps I should of worded it
"The only major problem I have encountered so far"

As the tests I'm going are only quick tests.

When I get Time I'm going to try them again with a little bit more depth.

X v Tie looks like Windows. I thought it was a DOS game that just came with an added windows installer ?

Anyway, I'll keep testing as I keep finding my CDs, and I'll post the results.

Does anyone know If I can pay Paul any other way than Paypal ?
Just wondering if anyone's tried another method.

Should be a Windows executable. Designed primarily for Multi-Player.
