But check how it looks if you just start a new game and don't move, look at the dark wall. In all wrappers (except dgvoodoo) it looks like on real voodoo 1 and voodoo 2 cards.

But in dgvoodoo it looks indeed more like on software, but does it look correct? It looks strange in my opinion. In software mode it looked rather ok, but with dgvoodoo it looks just strange... as if colors were wrong (even with gamma 100%)

Yes, I think remembering Tomb Raider with a Voodoo1 / 2 looked exactly like Glidos or other glide wrapper, but if you look at Tomb Raider 2 You will notice that it looks much more colorful and contrasting that the Tomb Raider 1 with 3d patch. Even the playstation version of the first game is also more vivid colors and brighter image than the PC version with the glide patch.

Screenshots of Tomb Raider emulated with epsxe:

I am looking for a quality image like this:

I'm really confused now: those images that you say are what you want are from Glidos using a texture pack.

Yes, this would be my desired result with Glidos and texture pack.
In my opinon with texture pack would look better if you could play with color and higher contrast as in the PSX version!

robertmo wrote:

sorry that was a result of using D3D textures bit depth 16-bit.
Oh well, so software mode looks like 16-bit cause it is 16-bit and that is why it looks different 😀

I wonder if Glide uses a different colour space to the standard sRGB, and maybe dgVoodoo accounts for that.

I do not know, that's why I asked you.
The question is, is possible in the future that Glidos has a chance to change the contrast and color of the image as dgvoodoo?

Thank you both, especially you Glidos.

anyway glidos your gamma setting just sux 😉
it is not increasing gamma (contrast emulation) but brightness, maybe your curve is flat? or wrong shape

No, pretty sure it's right: it has no effect on white, no effect on black, but it does change the brightness of midbrightness tones. That's what it's supposed to do. The calculation is done in OpenGLide or psVoodoo, depending on which one you select. Both are open source, so you can see how it's done.

Ah, so those were processed images? What processing did you do to them?

Yeah, so that's the tool you used, but what processing did you apply to the images to change them from washed out to contrasty.

Ah okay, this:

Note that the original capture of Fraps does not respect the original chromatic gamma, which is seen even more muted colors and black is more gray (in game), so maybe it is not very reliable. Do not know why, but it is.

Interesting. Can you translate "avanzada" and "semitono: ajustar solo semitonos". Although I'd guess the second is "Semitones: adjust single semitones", but then I don't know of a standard image adjuetment that is measured in semitones.

"Configuración avanzada" = advanced configuration

"semitono: ajustar solo semitonos" = You have translated very well
