Feel you were using an "illegal" copy of SDD? Now you don't have to!

SciTech has released some free and unsupported software, including some of our older products. SciTech Display Doctor versions 5.3a and 6.53 are now provided with registration codes that you can use, there is a WordPerfect 5.1 VBE driver, the old SVGA Kit, and SciTech UniVBE 6.7 has been provided as a stand-alone, license-free product.

Discussion about these products is welcome, but please remember that they are NOT supported by SciTech Software.

Wow. That's pretty impressive. Not that it matters, since their shareware versions weren't crippled in any way, but still. Maybe I overestimated the evilness of SciTech. Probably not, but maybe. Still, it's good to see a company still fighting for support of a "dead" OS.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Thanks for the info.

I remember a friend buying Settlers II years ago. There was a UNIVBE directory on the disk, and in it was the SciTech Univbe program and a crack for it complete with .nfo, on a factory pressed retail disk. I thought it rather strange that it made it through QA to get released with that still there.
