Great article thanks! Any way you can tone down the difficulty of your captchas?? Call me simple but I had to scroll through about 5 of them before I found a legible one.

An even shorter blog entry that I whipped up when I realized how wide a period of time my collection covers

3. Tomb Raider PC Oldskool Style
http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2014/07/t … kool-style.html

A lengthy entry attempting to be a comprehensive overview of running Tomb Raider on vintage hardware.

Just wanted to add more to this comment:

The ATi card was decent but had nothing to distinguish it particularly

The ATI version is the only version that runs in Windows allowing for much better joystick/gamepad control/buttons configurations compared to the DOS version. This is a major improvement when playing on vintage hardware. Also it allows 800x600 resolution and the framerate is very good. If you run on a Pentium II below 400mhz there won't be any texture glitches (which happens on faster computers with the ATI Rage Pro card). I will argue that the ATICIF version is actually one of the better for Tomb Raider.

I did not appreciate that the ATi patch was really a full Windows executable. I will have to add that.

Great reads as always thanks GH, and thanks for the ATi patch info vetz. My only real complaint with the original Tomb Raider is the controls, so it's good to know there's another option.

Great read on the Covox devices. Its great to have all the info documented.

By browsing some Computer Gaming World magazine issues i was able to find that the 1989 game Harpoon had support for both the Covox Sound Master and the Innovation SSI-2001.

The Covox Sound Master is indeed a card to try and clone. Would be totally worth it.

She is a nice blog. It does irk me slightly that you have the width fixed at 1500px. I never run my browsers fullscreen on my desktop machines. If you want it wider, go with a variable width site (i.e. width:100%). Many still prefer the 960px or 990px standard. All I care is that it fits in less than 1024px.
