Here's a present for anyone that cares.

I looked around for a newer build of Opera and found 10.70 Build 3488

Following the below procedure I was able to run this on 95 and NT4 and browse TLS 1.2 sites without a proxy which 10.63 cannot do.

Still going through the newer builds.

Known Bugs: Nothing reported yet

I'm very surprised this doesn't crash and burn by way of an unbalanced stack.

At best, renaming "DuplicateTokenEx" to "DuplicateToken" causes the function call to always fail.
Renaming "InterlockedCompareExchange" to "InterlockedExchange" seems like a bad idea™.

Agreed although it seems that whatever is using this functionality isn't necessary when browsing in Windows 95 since it seems stable enough. Wish the source was available. Need to look into wrapping these.

Speaking of proxy are there any 3rd party hosted WRP style proxies that convert modern web content without special software that won’t work on vintage hardware anyway

Haven't found anything except WRP yet. It does look like it's still in development with the additon of sslstrip so there's hope.

First of all how to setup testing environment:
1. get virtualbox 4.2 ( 4.3 did not work for me on Windows host)
2. create windows xp x32 vm.
3. go to virtualbox folder and run

vboxmanage modifyvm vm_name --cpuidset 0x1 0x0001067a 0x00000800 0x00000209 0x018bf3ff
this will disable SSE and SSE2 on guest OS. To revert changes execute

vboxmanage modifyvm <name> --cpuidremoveall
First command will add next lines to vm_name.vbox file to CPUsection

<CpuIdTree>
<CpuIdLeaf id="1" eax="67194" ebx="2048" ecx="521" edx="25949183"/>
</CpuIdTree>
second command will remove changes.

The 1070-9071_modified.zip build did not launch on Windows ME but the Opera_1070_3488_modified.zip launched on Windows ME and 10.
I don't have access to a 95 machine atm.
