I occasionally make remixes of old game soundtracks. Here's one:

Run (Unreal Tournament)

Hey, that sounds really good! 😀

BTW, here's one that I did a while back... The song "Downed Intro" (originally composed by Zak Belica) from the main-menu of "Counter-Strike: Condition Zero": "Downed_Intro.mp3" (also used for one of the mission intro tunes in "Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes").

What I did was carefully listen to the original song, and then sequence a MIDI file of it from scratch note-for-note (well, at least as close as I could get it <grin>).

I then recorded an MP3 of the final sequenced MIDI file using my Sound Blaster Live and custom WeedsGM3 SoundFont.

Now... the music for CS:CZ/CS:CZ-DS was INDEED originally composed using a MIDI sequencer, and then Zak Belica recorded them to MP3s for use in the game(s) using the following VST sound libraries (this confirmed by emails to the man himself <grin>):

London Orchestral Percussion
SAM Brass/Horns
A Gigasample string library
Novation Nova synth
Custom sound design for creepy/ambient sounds

Hehe, yeah, I know, I have WAY too much free time on my hands <grin>... take a song that was ORIGINALLY sequenced as a MIDI file and then recorded to an MP3, sequence from scratch a new MIDI file by listening to the original MP3, and then re-record the new MIDI file to a new MP3 🤣! 😀

Anyhow, the new re-sequenced MIDI and MP3:

An old Star Control II remix of mine was selected (somehow) for the "official" remix packs that accompany the open source re-release.

Don't even like it that much nowadays but apparently some people do. Now I'm wondering when I put those old wolf3d/DOOM remixes of mine...
