Hey All,

as many of you know, I have been working on an adventure game for DOS for what feels like an eternity. Finally a shareware demo of it is now ready for y'all to play. So without further ado you can download it here:

https://pgram.itch.io/chuck-jones

Should run well on a 286 or better with 640k ram and an Adlib-compatible card.

run chuck.exe without arguments to play the game with auto music device detection.

"chuck.exe a" for Adlib
"chuck.exe r" for Roland mt32
"chuck.exe m" for General Midi
"chuck.exe i" for internal speaker

Cool. Over the weekend or on Friday night, I'm planning on dusting off my Packard Bell Pack-Mate 28 Plus, hook it up, and test the game. For now, it'll be my Windows 98SE desktop for testing the game.

@DaveJustDave, I used OpenWatcom C++ to develop the game for the most part, a lot of the gameplay code was also done in a custom scripting language I developed for this game. I wrote a little bit more about this process on my blog which is linked in my signature.

Sweet! I have some good bare metal to run it on (P200-S, 80MB, CL5446 PCI graphics), and I'm participating in a test of a thin client for DOS gaming. I look forward to this, and just the other day was trying to remember the specifics of the game such that I could search for an earlier thread about it.

Downloaded it for testing on the 10-Zig I'm testing in All Claimed! Hardware Giveaway (10zig 56xx Thin Clients)

I'll update that one with performance issues/sound weirdness (if there's sound), and here with (non-spoiler!) gameplay feedback.
