Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 (Aug 10th, 2008) using the UMCT script:
Re: Windows 11 has been released

The following are greyed out in "Windows Features"
Microsoft Defender Application Guard
Windows Sandbox

Meets system requirements: Not all devices running Windows 10 are eligible to receive a Windows 11 upgrade. See the Windows 11 device specifications for upgrade requirements and supported features. Certain features require additional hardware. We also recommend that you visit your PC’s manufacturer website for information about updated drivers and hardware compatibility.

WARNING: Installing Windows 11 media on a PC that does not meet the Windows 11 minimum system requirements is not recommended and may result in compatibility issues. If you proceed with installing Windows 11 on a PC that does not meet the requirements, that PC will no longer be supported and won't be entitled to receive updates. Damages to the PC due to lack of compatibility aren't covered under the manufacturer warranty.

Hmm, would be interesting to write malware to disable TPM in the BIOS or heck just tell people to disable because china/russia,covid,5G etc.... Tons of machines stop updating (doubt it), success!

So that's why they turned off the facebook, to let folks focus a little on upgrading windows...

Sounds plausible.

Windows 11 doesn't bother me. I even don't have any motherboard and CPU which could run it. Except two Intel Boards with i3, LGA775 / socket AM2 stuff is the latest x86 hardware I have.

So I don't care...

Windows? What's that?

Well first there was hardware, then firmware then software, and now something they call gooey, if it goes on like this next we'll have runny and we'll be pouring our computing by the shot.

None of my computers can run Windows 11. I've got one 16 core Opteron 6386 SE (dev + streaming) and a 4 core i7 6700k (gaming), both systems with 32Gb of RAM and SSD. Both systems are more than capable of doing very heavy tasks, but Microsoft has decided to shoot themselves in the foot and not support them. Soooo Windows 11 is a no-no for me.

I've been running Windows 11 on a desktop and 2 laptops since the pre-release was available.

Works fine but they changed some interface stuff that takes a bit of getting used to.

Can it tile windows properly again yet?

Dunno. I never use that feature. I don't have any huge 4k screens that would make it worthwhile.

I just use multiple monitors.

Windows only lives here under Virtual Machines. I do not have a bare metal Windows install since... well... 2010.

Finally! Now we can install windows updates offline in peace.

The very same here. I'll use Linux when 2025 comes.

Hopefully by that time, Visual Studio will be Linux native. :p

I thought that it already was? Since VS Code is an electron app?
