My Home page that houses the CHKCPU CPU Identification utility and The Unofficial K6-2+ / K6-III+ BIOS page gets a new home. 😀
For more than 25 years this “Jan's PC Upgrade problems Page” could be found at http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/ but my internet provider stopped supporting these traditional homepages. So I moved my website to a new domain at http://www.steunebrink.info

For now, when you use the old url, you will be automatically redirected to the new. But in the future only the new url will be valid.

I welcome you all on my new homepage whenever you need specific retro PC upgrade information or a patched socket 7 BIOS with K6-2+/K6-III+ and 128GB HDD support.

Regards, Jan

Indeed, thanks to you I was able to choose a Socket 3 board for an AM5x86 <-- which happened to be included with a Super Socket 7 board purchase <-- which I was able to verify supported the K6-III+ modified K6-2+ before purchase, had a chipset (referring to the Socket 3) capable of supporting L1 write-back cache all at the same time! I don't have any experience with 486's and not much with the K6, so being able to minimize mistakes was a real help.

Thanks a million!

Thank you all for the nice words. 😀

I just noticed that the redirect from the old to the new url doesn't work anymore.
So my website is now only available via the new url:

Cheers, Jan

Occasionally, I’m still working on my K6plus support project and a few days ago I’ve updated my K6plus page and added several patched BIOSes to he list.

I reviewed and re-tested a number of patched socket 7 BIOSes that I worked on in past. These BIOSes are now released and available for download for the following motherboards:

- Asus P55TVP4
- Asus TX97-XV
- Elitegroup P5TX-Bpro
- Iwill XA100
- Shuttle HOT-571
- Tekram P5T30-B4
- Tyan S1592

I also updated some, earlier released, patched BIOSes with additional bugfixes. These new patched versions are for:

- Chaintech 5SIM
- QDI Titanium IB+
- PCChips M577 / Ampron PM9900
- Shuttle HOT-569
- Shuttle HOT-569A

As usual, each patched BIOS comes with a PATCH.TXT file that documents the changes I’ve made.

Cheers, Jan
