Anyone else experiencing nVidia Control Panel crashes with the latest drivers? I'm seeing them on my Dell M7130 laptop (Geforce 8700M GT SLI in non-SLI mode) under 32-bit Vista Ultimate. Fortunately the crashes take a minute or so to happen, so I was able to set my graphics settings and then forget about it.

Try reinstalling or updating .net

I'm having driver crashes left and right since the 285 drivers. It happens only when using Firefox 8. Apparently the fix is to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox but what's the fun in that.

They reached version 30x.xx and DirectX 5 and 6 have been broken again since the 270.xx version. I guess I cannot expect anything else from them.

my pc froze many times too, but got new (used) main parts and the first freeze was in bios so i excluded drivers problems 😉
Though I updated bios as it had problem with detecting my ram properly.
Were they crushes or freezes for you?
oh and i guess i should reinstall oses 😉

I had eventually to roll back to the last 2xx-series driver on Vista on my laptop so that I wouldn't be bothered with BSODs. However, I kept having it revert to 800x600 while my laptop was locked with its lid closed.

I finally gave up and installed Windows 7, and haven't had any problems with resolution or BSOD with the latest 3xx-series mobile drivers.

320.48 still not working on my core i7 2700k. Same mouse pointer issues/crashes...

And I am not alone in this: GeForce forum thread

Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)

Nvidia certainly has some bad driver issues since this year. Not too long ago 320.18 was allegedly causing hardware failures for some people 😒

I've always had that issue with flash video acceleration on my 9800 where a few lines at the bottom would appear garbled in fullscreen. Not that anybody would care about such ancient cards though. Maybe the AMD way of not putting out any updates at all is better than breaking stuff in new versions...

So nVidia was saying they were to stop releasing x86 drivers after 390.xx branch but this 391.01 still has got x86 support.

It looks nvidia no longer provides standard drivers (only DCH ones now).
I read it is hard to change from DCH back to standard.
Anyone already experienced compatibility problems with older games with DCH drivers?
Is it still possible to change nvidia card to an older one that only has standard drivers?

It is better to name a few because the ones I have been testing are working just fine.

It was possible once upon a time by removing the "-dch" part from the link earlier, but now it returns a dead link

I was asking whether it is possible to remove GTX 1660 from PC and insert an old GTX 285 after DCH has been installed for GTX 1660.

GeForce 285 doesn't support DCH drivers. It should be thar when you insert one you revert to MBDD
