Wanted to upgrade my previous WinXP build which was centered on an E8400 cpu and Geforce 7950GT. This will also mark my
first attempt on using an SSD for a retro build and it didn't disappoint. Boot time improved dramatically to say the least.

The build wasn't without some head scratching as the mobo didn't have a floppy connection yet shipped with Raid/SATA drivers on
a floppy. Took me a few attempts to install those particular drivers but eventually got it figured out after quite of bit of googling.

Here's the specs:

CPU: Intel E8600 3.33GHz. Duo Core 2
Motherboard: Intel DP35DP (Not the best pick even if it was NOS, a higher end ASUS/Gigabyte would've been a better choice)
Memory: 4GB 800MHz. Corsair
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9500 AT NIB
GPU: EVGA Geforce 470 1280mB NIB ( I know a space heater, but "winter is coming")
Storage: TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan 512GB SSD (This may bite me but formatted/aligned in win10, then formatted again in the XP install)
Optical Drive: DVD/RW Sata (unknown brand)
Sound Card: Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium PCi-E
Power Supply: Corsair Cx650M Semi Modular
Case: Corsair Carbide Series Spec-01
OS: Windows XP SP3

Attached are some photos, yes my cable management skills are a "work in progress".

Benchmarks at 1280 x 1024: 2003 3D mark =58212/ Crysis=73 fps/ Quake4= 101 fps/Doom3= 207 fps

Those are some solid specs for a Windows XP setup!

Nice looking case interior as well. All black with the copper Zalman heatsink makes for a striking aesthetic.

Thanks, always did like the Zalman coolers but wish it wasn't orange for this build to be honest.
