Shorter pipeline.

Next stage. Everything running well, but Inno3D turn to be broken (bad ass - seller), so I should get another 7600GT - from Qleadtek Winfast with DDR3 too and I found also Leadtek nVidia 7800GS 256M DDR3 256bit will it be better than 7600GT?? Here is some weird results: http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/review-leadtek … 20-benchmark-13

The Geforce 7800 GS should be better...

In Tomshardwares tests it beats the 6800 Ultra at least.

First results 3DM01SE,03,05,06 PCM05 Sandra04 HDTach HDTune with Northwood on 3.2GHz - slapdash 😁 /on MS WinXP SP2 - Silicon3112 RAID0, nVidia Forceware 94.24/ (btw: which driver is best for 7600GT/7800GS up to 2006 games only ??? ).

I want to compare results with Prescot 3.2GHz on default + 7600GT, 7800GS soon, and then I do a clean Install, now I am trying everything from 1999-2008 Demos mostly to save time. But I dont know if my RAID0 is configured properly, i think it is SLOW! I used just average disks WD2500AAJS -7200rpmn, 8M cache.

Forceware 92.91 is very good, im not sure if its faster than the one you are using but you could give it a shot.

This file says beta, I will check if my file is the same.

Edit: Yea I had the same so its only beta, perhaps that is why it performs so well 😀

It's worth noting that the Prescott has SSE3, and outside of a few cases in that review, performs on-par with or slightly better than the Northwood. Generally it's held that Prescott is a worse choice under 3GHz, but over 3GHz it's potentially superior due to SSE3 and increased cache. Of course the motherboard has to support Prescott, and not all do.

Performance in 3D01 looks pretty decent - my EE doesn't score a whole lot higher, so you're certainly in the right ballpark there (that is, I don't suspect anything is wrong with anything on the configuration based on that). Driver-wise, I've had good luck with 71.89, 93.71, and 307.83 (the latest/final drivers for GF7) with a wide variety of cards. If you need DVI support, you'll want to go with something from series 200 or newer as there was a bug in older drivers that limited RGB output range via DVI (so you would get 16-235 vs 0-255), and it was not fixed for a long time (you can track it through over a year of nVidia release notes if you want). Going with a modern driver like 307.83 will also let you enable PhysX if you have another GPU that can do it (and yes it really will let you run 3D on a GeForce 7, and have a GeForce 8 or 9 or whatever as a secondary card just to run PhysX).

I do use DVI of course, I have Abit IC7-G with one AGP but I dont need physics in 2001-2005/6games, and original Ageia card to PCI slot is hard to find anyway.

Which DX9c games? And at what settings? Of course the GeForce 7 isn't a total speed-demon for such - that's pretty cutting edge for it actually. It should be able to handle things like Half-Life 2 with HDR or Fallout 3, but asking it to do something like Skyrim or Mass Effect 3 is probably too much. But none of those games are "2004" - there's a reason Phil and others were suggesting GeForce 8 and such a few pages ago... 😊 The CPU is also a factor as you move towards 2010 - Pentium 4 (and even Athlon64) quickly become woefully inadequate as games started to want hardware multi-threading and higher performance.

For games from around 2004, like original Half-Life 2, CS:S, Unreal Tournament 2004, Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, Hitman: Contracts, etc the 7800GS/P4 combo should have no problems. Even later games like Oblivion, Doom 3, and Hitman: Blood Money should be playable, depending on what settings you'd like (I know 7900GS and 6800GT/Ultra run all of those). If you just want to run all games from 2002-2010 with everything at the absolute highest settings with crazy high AA at crazy high resolution, you will need a substantially more powerful machine. 😊

Cooler-wise, neither of my 7900GS or 7950GX2 cards really "need" the big Zalman - they run pretty cool with single-slot coolers like the 7800GS. They're pretty power efficient cards (even the big 7950GX2 is only specified to something like 140W max; the single-GPU cards are usually under 70W).

Also, out of curiosity, why do you keep calling Leadtek "Qleadtek"? 😊 😕

TestDrive Unlimited for ex. What is the maximum AA for 7000Series cards? 8X? But FarCry run decent 1600x1200 4xAA MAxedOut min FPS 32
When comes to AA this card is Beast!

Look at the Leadtek logo - It allways starts with some sign similiar to "Q"

I'm not really familiar with racing games, so I can't comment on performance there. Max AA for a single GeForce 7 is 8x, but that isn't guranteed to be playable in all situations. Two GPUs can do 16x, and 4 can do 32x. Quadro FX variants can do 16x on a single GPU, and 32x for a pair (and I honestly do not remember if FX 4500X2s can be ganged for four-way SLI).

I'm not sure if you could flash the 7800 to a Quadro BIOS, or otherwise hack the drivers, to enable 16x AA modes on it. I doubt it would be very playable in newer games though, but for something older like Quake 3 or UT99 it might work.

I always saw that as an "R" but either way it makes sense to me now... 🤣
