Why downgrade to XP? It's a dying OS

Windows XP will never die! 😎 Vista and DX9 gaming seemed like a less than optimal combination, the system isnt fast enough for newish games.
I use Windows XP with most of my systems, only the socket 1366 systems and my i5 notebook runs Windows 7.

Win7 might be a good compromise, if you optimize it somewhat by turning off graphical effects and such. I installed it recently on my main desktop, and I find it makes better use of the computing power I have than XP64 did.

I see no reason at all for using a new OS with a system this old.
The system was built for Windows XP then updated to Vista (free Vista upgrade sticker on the chassi).

There are already a XP licence and a Vista license tied to the motherboard.

Hi,
I have a pc just like yours that i am rebuilding, but i don't know where/how to mount the hard-drive, so could you please take some Pictures 😀
Thanx

You would not believe how much I had to dig around to find and free this system... My storage would benefit from some organization...

It seems you need a plastic drive caddy thingy. It can probably be substituted with cardboard or something similar.
