Congratulations, nice build - I have a Voodoo 3 2000 too, and I thought I'd use it for my FreeDOS machine instead of Voodoo + S3 ... but in the end I keep on the classic double.
Beautiful case desktop!

Hmm I tested now a bit around and installed Wing Commander 4 + Win9x patch. The DOS version runs flawless. The Win9x exe makes some trouble. The sound in the video is cracked. So I thought maybe slow CPU issue and I switched to a K6-2 500 and upgraded the memory at the same time to 128MB. Same issue. Any ideas? I will keep the CPU and mem now in that box 😀

I like it, the gold heat sinks on the AWE64 Gold are a nice touch. 😀 Not sure what to do about the FMV sound issues you're having, maybe install the 9x DVD version, or update the Windows sound drivers?

I also have cracked sound with the 9x Version of WC4. The same AWE64 Gold, but a Intel Slot 1 System. So maybe it's a problem with the soundcard? I use the latest driver from philsomputerlab.

Or a problem with DirectX Acceleration? DirectX 9.0c is installed. Maybe interesting to test with this setting:

I remember this occurred even at the time for Prophecy. There is either a patch or a fix though, so fear not. Sorry I can't remember the details but I have recently run this game, and also ran it back near the time of release and it always had the video playback skipping issue. But it can be fixed.

Oh, it's just the sound acceleration, or apparently there is a patch, use at your own risk:

But no patch for the CD Version of WC4 in Windows 9x. Reducing the sound acceleration should solve the problem.

It makes it worst here. Videos doesn't skip just the sound is bad like when you play in dosbox and have the wrong settings or not enough cpu power.
