That's a great XP system you built. I recently built my wife a new system based on the X58 platform and a Xeon x5675. Used Xeon's make a great base for a desktop/gaming system and they are very affordable compared to their mainstream Intel equivalents.

Affordable as there was more Xeons made than desktop equivalents, data centres used thousands of these chips, which is a bonus for us as they are now plentiful on the second-hand market at reasonable pricing.

Used data center equipment is a great source of components. Back in August I built my new computer around a old HP Proliant ML350 and a pair of x5675 Xeon's great system and I have maybe 100 bucks wrapped up in it.

The evga gtx960 SSC is a wundefull GPU, can only recommend for such a system. It handles anything XP releated with no efford. Big boost about the gtx 285 and absolute silent and cool around 40°C on load.
MSI afterburner voltage settings works also now, and 1920x1200@75Hz over display port.

Dos 6.22: Asus VL/I-486SV2GX4 Rev 2.0 1Mb L2 - AMD A5x86 X5 ADZ 133MHz @160MHz - 64MB RAM - CT2230 - GUS ACE - MPU-401 AT - ET4000W32P
Win98SE: Asus P5K-WS - E8600 @ 4,5GHz - Strange God Voodoo 5 6000 PCI @ 66MHz PCI-X - 2GB DDR2 1066 - Audigy 2 ZS

That's an absolute beast you built. You should be able to play every XP era game at maxed settings and high resolutions at stupidly wonderful frame rates. You did a great job with your wiring it's a stunning system to look at.

You have inspired me to do something similar.

I have a Phantom GTX970 sitting around, just need to shove it into the Quadzilla box and force myself to mod some XP drivers for it, I have been meaning to do it for a while but SLI GTX285s are a ton of fun to play with.
