Latest addition:
Recently the warehouse supervisor at work was going to drive this PC to the dumpster but I was there in the last minute and saved it, hehe
An AST Advantage 7301, my originally fitted with a Pentium 120 and 24mb RAM, 1.2gig harddrive.
Had some built in SB Pro compatible souncard + daughterboard connected by a ribbon cable
The cmos battery was dead so I replaced it, removed the Pentium 120 and fitted a P200 MMX instead, upgraded the ram to 128mb
The rest of the upgrade consisted of a 20gig 7200rpm HD, Voodoo 3000 PCi gfx card, Soundblaster 16 (CT1740) + DB60XG midi daughterboard, 100mbit network card, Gravis Ultrasound Max rev 2.1 (1mb)
Win98SE + unofficial servicepack 2
The cd-rom wasn't replaced since it's a 8x model which isn't so noisy but still fast enough for my needs
Just love this box, it's built like a tank....
Think it will be perfect for DOS games from 1994-1996 and some early 3D games
